Sunken Boat Recovery in Poole Harbour Marina
Home to the Old Lifeboat Museum, which acted as Poole Harbours lifeboat station between 1882 and 1974 when it was converted into a museum, Fishermans Dock has been a centre of activity in the harbour for many years. It is therefore of great importance to keep this area clear and after the recent discovery of a 25 foot sunken boat below one of the piers, CSD were contacted by the Harbour Commissioners to identify and assist in the lifting and removal of the boat from the sea bed.
After receiving the initial inquiry our divers were soon in the water along with a barge and lifting gear provided by the Harbour Commissioners. Initially the submerged boat was surveyed to assess its condition and establish the best method for lifting with no debris being left behind. Lifting strops were then attached to the boat before securing to the lifting barge, which successfully removed the boat from the sea bed.
All work was completed safely as planned with no complications, to the clients satisfaction.
