Poolside Tiling Repairs – Fingergrip edging tiles

Commercial and Specialised Diving Ltd have been carrying out a wide variety of repairs to pools all over England and Wales. This month we thought we would highlight fingergrip edging tiles, an item we have been replacing frequently over the past few weeks. Fingergrip tiles are found in pools with deck level grating, the tiles are partially submerged and provide swimmers with an edge to hold on to; as well as a demarcation strip allowing users to easily distinguish the pool edge.

The removable ladders at this site have resulted in chipped and damaged edging tiles - a cutting hazard to the hands and feet of the pool users.

Poolside features, such as removable ladders, can cause chips to form in the edging tiles which then pose a cutting hazard to the hands and feet of the pol users. The tiles are cut out and the underlying screed is then prepared for the replacement tiles to be laid. Once the new tiles have finished curing, they are grouted to match the surrounding tiles.

The damaged tiles are removed, replaced and regrouted to match the surrounding edging tiles.

Whilst carrying out underwater repairs, our team of experienced divers can carry out repairs to these edging tiles – as they have been doing frequently this month. All works were carried out within costs and to the customer’s satisfaction.
