Wet Work Tiling

Commercial & Specialised Diving were called out this month to come to the aid of a West-Country leisure centre with major overflow channel issues.

Over-flow channels are found in deck level pools – pools where the water is level with the surrounding deck.  The water continuously flows over the edge of the pool into a drainage channel around its perimeter. This is possibly one of the best pool designs on the market today and, when in full working order, provides an efficient method of water circulation. However in this case the overflow channel blocks were broken and damaged, in turn the pool water was escaping rapidly.

Removing the cracked and broken blocks would have been a lengthy and expensive manoeuvre, so Commercial & Specialised Diving came up with a cost-effective solution that could be carried out during the day. Our divers removed the worse damage and underpinned the blocks with high-grade stainless steel. The blocks were then further stabilised.

The pool was up and running in no time at all, and the long-term effective repair saved the centre a good deal of money and aggravation.  These works highlight the fact that Commercial & Specialised Diving are not only experts in underwater tiling and maintenance, but our wet tiling skills are exceptional too!
